| Dean College defends their 12th Ranking |
The NJCAA 12th-ranked Dean College football team’s magical season continues its path into unchartered territory, as they defeated Nassau Community College this Saturday, 17-14. Leading 17-7 at the half, a scoreless third quarter created some drama for the last 15 minutes. Nassau scored with 39 seconds left in the game to cut the deficit to three, but Dean recovered the onside kick, and ran their record to 8-0. The last time a Bulldog team started the season 8-0 was in 1991, went they finished the season 10-0.
This puts Dean in position to capture the Northeast Football Conference championship next week. A win at Hudson Valley Community College (Troy, NY) next Saturday would give them their first outright title, as any tie-breakers would be in their favor.
The Bulldogs will look to break into the top ten in the national poll, as this win over a perennial powerhouse might move them up from their current 12th place ranking.
